Scott Speer: "I love fairy tales"

Statements by the director of Midnight Sun

"I love fairy tales," is the first thing the director says when talking about his latest production Midnight Sun. Since he was amazed to read the script that one of the producers of the film gave him: "When I read it, I immediately thought it was a real and contemporary version of the Cinderella story, with nuances of Rapunzel", he says about the plot of the film.

The director sums up the plot very well: "Katie is locked in her room and cannot leave when the sun rises. Her windows have a special protection against UV rays." And the director is certain to reflect on that: "I think we have all looked through the window at different times in our lives and we have felt that we do not fit in, that we cannot relate to the outside world. Until someone appears and makes it possible." he said.

A love against all odds

Midnight Sun tells a dream story. Katie (Bella Thorne) is a young teenager eager to discover the world. But there is one problem: her body does not tolerate sunlight. Confined to her room and with only the possibility of going out at night, the protagonist will meet Charlie (Patrick Schwarzenegger) and everything will change forever.

Don’t miss the news of a great love story!
