Nash Edgerton: "I like to be surprised when I go to the movies"

Statements by the director of Gringo

Gringo is about to be released in Latin American cinemas and, in dialogue with the press, director Nash Edgerton told how the project came about.

"I read the script and I liked the main idea of the movie. That made me want to participate and develop it more. I think I was surprised and found it unpredictable. I like to be surprised when I go to the movies," he said.

The most noteworthy aspect of the film is the presence of a choral top- ranked cast: David Oyelowo, Charlize Theron, Joel Edgerton (director’s brother), Amanda Seyfried, Thandie Newton and Sharlto Copley are in the film.

In this sense, Edgerton feels proud to have been able to count on them. "I feel very lucky to have that cast. The wonderful thing about them is that, beyond their personal talents, they all got along very well and acted very well together," he said.

Gringo: a crazy plot.

A somewhat naive Nigerian (David Oyelowo) works for a company run by corrupt bosses (Edgerton and Theron). Everything will complicate when he is sent to Mexico.
