Annette Bening: between dreams and reality

The plot of Film stars don’t die in Liverpool

Gloria Grahame is gone. But love is still alive in Peter Turner who keeps remembering and evoking her. From his memoirs, the film Film stars don’t die in Liverpool arises and the film directed by Paul McGuigan reflects that spirit.

Annette Bening, the person in charge to play a star of Hollywood theaters, said: "The story alternates between the past and the present without explaining it. It seems like something continuous, it is how memories and the mind work. And so is the director, and he shows that," she said.

To prepare her performance, Bening did not hesitate to change her voice for the story and she also did a great research work: "I had the advantage of being able to watch her films, it was fun. I sat down to watch all that I found. And I also saw her work in the television, which was during the sixties and seventies," she said.

A romance that knows no ages

When Gloria Grahame and Peter Turner made their romance official, many raised their voices to oppose the age difference.

A great love story began and that reflects Film stars don’t die in Liverpool.
