Hugh Grant: a look back at his career

Let's learn more about this talented actor

Hugh Grant is a British actor and film producer who was born on September 9, 1960, in Hammersmith, London. During his first years, he studied English literature and graduated with honors from Oxford University while at the same time he joined the drama club and participated in a play production. Therefore, his passion for the profession grew even more.

After several appearances on television, his first steps in cinema were in the early ‘80s with Privileged (1982), a film directed by Michael Hoffman. He achieved international recognition some years later with the comedy Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994) and from that moment on, he received several Golden Globe nominations for his performance in that film as well as for his role in Notting Hill (1999), co-starring Julia Roberts (Ben is Back, Larry Crown).

One of his latest successful romantic comedies was The Rewrite, a film that tells the story of Michaels Ray, a witty, sexy Englishman in Hollywood who had just won an Academy Award for Best Screenplay and was on top of the world. He gets divorced fifteen years later and, with no other option, he takes a job teaching screenwriting at a small East Coast college. Although the idea of teaching isn’t very exciting, he hopes to make some money, but what he didn't expect was to find love with a single mother who attends school.

Today the actor is looking to delve into other genres or try out different characters to stand out and mark a milestone in his career. Therefore, he will step into the shoes of Greg Simmonds in Operation Fortune, a film that follows an MI6 agent and his team in recruiting a movie star to carry out a covert operation. The goal is to find a high-tech weapon and prevent it from getting into the wrong hands. You will get the chance to enjoy more of Hugh Grant's talent with this film that will soon hit theaters in Latin America.
