Traveling with Diamond: Woman in Gold

Let's take a brief tour of Vienna!

The film directed by Simon Curtis is based on true events, as it delves into the true story of a woman's journey to reclaim her inheritance and obtain justice for what happened to her family.

Sixty years after fleeing Vienna during World War II, a Jewish woman begins a journey to recover her family possessions taken by the Nazis, including Klimt's famous painting, the portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I. Together with her young and inexperienced lawyer, she embarks on a battle to reach the center of the Australian establishment and the U.S. Supreme Court.

The film starring Helen Mirren, Ryan Reynolds, Katie Holmes, and Daniel Brühl not only explores the relationship between cinema and painting but also takes a tour of various stunning locations in Vienna.

One of the most outstanding places in the film is the Belvedere, two baroque palaces, one of them now converted into a museum and the other into a hotel. They are connected by gardens organized in three levels that represent different allegories. The Belvedere also exhibits one of the most important art collections in Austria, with major works by Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, and Oskar Kokoschka.
