I'm your man: romance and artificial intelligence

Dan Stevens makes us fall in love as a humanoid robot!

The new film directed by Maria Schereder, who previously made Unorthodox, tells the story of Alma, a scientist working at the Pergamon Museum in Berlin who needs to raise funds for her research and so decides to participate in an eye-catching study: for three weeks she will live with a humanoid robot that is programmed to adapt to her personality and needs. Thus, Alma meets Tom, a device created to make her happy.

I'm your man is not a traditional romance story. The plot explores the possibility of a relationship between a human and an artificial intelligence, an increasingly common reflection in the seventh art, whether in films such as Ex MachinaHer, or I, Robot. In this particular case, Maria Schereder offers us a more original and fresh perspective that can only be given within the romantic comedy genre. The distance from the scientific aspect allows us to delve into other issues such as desire, intimacy, fantasy and platonic love. Other questions about bonds and love will arise from this unusual relationship.

The film starring Dan Stevens entertains and invites a more universal introspection: if you could create a perfect, flawless partner, would you do it? Or is it more important to learn to accept each other's imperfections?

There is no confirmed release date in theaters for Latin America, but surely in the coming weeks there will be news about it.

Keep an eye out for more news!
