- The main cities are Ankara and Istanbul and they have huge palaces, mosques and castles. One of the specific locations where Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre was filmed was Antalya, a Turkish seaside resort with an ancient harbor filled with yachts, beaches and hotels.
- The most popular sport in Turkey is soccer, but another traditional sport was Yagli, also known as oil wrestling.
- Turkish cuisine is world-renowned for its great variety. Its most celebrated dishes include Iskender Kebab, thinly sliced lamb served with a hot tomato sauce on pieces of bread; Manti, delicious Turkish ravioli; and Baklava, an exotic dessert of thin layers of puff pastry dough with chopped nuts.
