Sebastian Stan (Destroyer) was born on August 13, 1982 in Romania. He moved to New York when he was 12 years old and, while a teenager, he participated in school productions, attended a summer camp specialized in acting, and worked in a movie theater complex. He then began his undergraduate studies at the Mason Gross School of the Arts, which allowed him to travel abroad and study drama at The Globe theater in London.
He started out as an actor when he was eleven years old with director Michael Haneke in the film 71 Fragments of a Chronology of Chance (1994). In his early career, he participated in several television series such as Gossip Girl and Once upon a Time, but stardom came with Bucky Barnes in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. From that point on, he continued to showcase his talent in countless Marvel movies alongside other blockbuster and independent projects such as The Martian, Endings, Beginnings and Destroyer. His success as Bucky also gave him the opportunity to return to TV with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. He is, without a doubt, a great actor who is gaining prominence in Hollywood and his role as the abusive husband Jeff Gillooly in I, Tonya evidenced his amazing acting talent. Fellow actress Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street) has said several times that he deserved more recognition during the awards season.
Where will we see him next? In The 355, where he will be joined by a superb cast: Diane Kruger, Jessica Chastain (Molly’s Game), Penélope Cruz and Lupita Nyong'o. Directed by Simon Kinberg, the film revolves around a group of women that make up one of the most prestigious spy units in the world. The agents will have to join forces to confront an invisible enemy and prevent a weapon of mass destruction from ending up in the wrong hands.
