World Oceans Day

Let's take care of them!

World Oceans Day is celebrated on June 8, a date established by the United Nations to recognize the importance of the oceans for all species. They represent the main lungs of the planet as they are responsible for generating much of the oxygen of our planet and they are also home to a great diversity of marine ecosystems with an infinite number of animal and plant species essential for life on planet Earth.

Another essential function of these vast expanses of water is to contribute to climate balance. It is no news that humans have been destroying the planet over the years and that the current burning of fossil fuels has a negative impact on it. Where do we see this? In the increase of temperatures generating climate imbalances in all continents and in the increase of the sea level.

In this sense, the film Adrift, starring Shailene Woodley (Misanthrope) and Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire), makes us reflect on what the ocean can give us, like beautiful walks, breathtaking landscapes and sunsets, wildlife that accompanies us during our journey (who doesn’t love dolphins when you see them jumping near the boat?) and great moments to remember. But it also gives us its fury with huge waves, unforeseen events, difficulties, fears and why not, seasickness. This adventure, action and love film by Baltasar Kormákur will give you this and a lot more.

Let's become aware to save our planet!
