Lady Di played by Kristen Stewart

Have you seen the first image of the film?

A few weeks ago news came out about the film Spencer, a biopic about Princess Diana at a particular moment in her life: in the early 90's when she decides to separate from Prince Charles during a weekend with her family at the Windsor house on the Sandringham estate. The film, directed by Chilean Pablo Larraín (Jackie), has begun shooting in Germany and will continue in the United Kingdom.

While it is still unknown who will play Prince Charles and their children - Prince William and Harry - we do know that the cast will include Kristen Stewart (playing Princess Diana), Timothy Spall (Mr Turner), Sally Hawkins (The Shape of Water) and Sean Harris (Mission: Impossible 7).

The film's producers have globally shared the first image of the film where Stewart can be seen with blonde hair and wearing a black shirt with a bow tie, a red jacket and a black polka-dot veiled hat, looking out from - what seems - a window inside the Royal family home. While there are high expectations for her performance, we think she will amaze us as with this first glimpse where she has left us speechless by her resemblance to Lady Di.

The actress said in an interview: “Spencer is a dive inside an emotional imagining of who Diana was at a pivotal turning point in her life. It is a physical assertion of the sum of her parts, which starts with her given name: Spencer. It is a harrowing effort for her to return to herself, as Diana strives to hold onto what the name Spencer means to her.”

A great movie, we'll stay tuned for more updates!
