Not being able to control what the media says about you

Russell Crowe's personality

Fifteen years ago, in 2005, Russell Crowe, the New Zealand actor, was involved in a rather peculiar police situation. Apparently, he had a mishap with one of the employees of the hotel where he was staying when, not being able to get a call through to his wife, he threw the device at the other man. The incident ended in a trial where he was released from charges. His publicist at that time published a statement recounting what happened and stating that the actor regretted having lost his temper and that it was not his intention to hurt anyone.

Today, in 2020, he embodies a character with an extreme, uncontrollable anger in the thriller Unhinged. "I actually found this amusing," Crowe said in an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald when asked about how he felt finally playing this kind of role after being accused for years of having a bad temper.

And, making it clear that he doesn't have anger issues in real life, he added: "That cliched description that is applied to me isn't any level of my truth.” Over the years he claims that he has lost control over what the media says about his personal life and as a result "the false idea that I have a bad temper has become an important 'asset' to the media.” All cleared up.

We look forward to the release of this new thriller starring Caren Pistorious, which promises to leaves us speechless.
