The young English actor and dancer Tom Holland became world famous after playing Spider-Man in the most recent Marvel movies.
And now he will return with another great star of that movie universe, Benedict Cumberbatch, and they will do so with director Alfonso Gómez-Rejón in the film The Current War, which focuses on the development of the modern electricity system.
A story that changed the world.
Together with a stellar cast composed of Michael Shannon, Nicholas Hoult and Katherine Waterston, the young actor embodies British accountant Samuel Insull, who tirelessly collaborated with inventor Thomas Edison (played by Cumberbatch) to give electric light to the world.
This is a great challenge for Holland because he must play a character very different from what he had been embodying.
Known for playing Lucas Bennett in the movie The Impossible and Thomas Nickerson in In the Heart of the Sea, Holland now immerses himself in a period story that reveals, to a large extent, how the world we have experienced to this day was built.
