Karyn Kusama: "a film about how to face your mistakes"

The director of Destroyer reveals details of her upcoming film

Surely Destroyer will always be remembered for Nicole Kidman’s almost unrecognizable appearance, but behind this initial impact there is a story with many interesting aspects that will certainly amaze the audience.  

 That is why, in dialogue with the press, director Karyn Kusama revealed that for her: "Destroyer is, in essence, a film about how to face your mistakes and take the courageous decision to take responsibility for your actions".  

 A message that is framed within the police, crime and suspense genres. To which is added: "an analysis of personality, which revolves around the wounded but resistant psychic landscape of a Los Angeles detective named Erin Bell," said the director.  

 To build this narrative universe, Kusama used great stories from the movies, as she says: "the criminal world that investigates (Bell) remind us of movies like Heat and The Usual Suspects. But the film also allows an intimate access to it in a type of genre films as varied as Taxi Driver, A Prophet or Nightcrawler."  

 A background that gives the audience an idea of ​​what they can find in the film.

 Detective Erin Bell’s life is complete chaos. Among her problems, she drags the failure she had when infiltrating a group of criminals, a while ago. Maybe the present offers her a chance to overcome it.
