What they had: the essence of life under the magnifying glass

The first feature film by writer Elizabeth Chomko

What to do with mom when the time comes? This is the question of the new proposal by writer, director and American actress Elizabeth Chomko.

Thanks to an attractive story born of Chomko's powerful pen, the film has the luxury of having a first level cast.

The hardest decisions

Hillary Swank plays the always busy Bridget Ertz, a woman who slowly begins to realize how insignificant her life has become.

The emotional disconnection is especially evident with her husband Eddi, in charge of Josh Lucas, a sort of decorative figure that barely stands out from Bridget's routine of responsibilities.

The situation takes a turn when Bridget's brother, played by Michael Shannon, asks her to return for a while to her native Chicago.

Once at home, Bridget must convince her father to put her mother Ruth (Blythe Danner) with Alzheimer's in a nursing home, and allow her to live the last part of her life in the best possible way.

A luxurious cast for an intergenerational family drama with delicate threads of humor that make it a must- see.
