2022 Sundance Film Festival

The most important event for independent films

The Sundance Film Festival is back again this year to showcase the most relevant independent films. It is a meeting that brings together production companies, platforms, filmmakers and actors of the film industry, and this time the same format as in 2021 was repeated, that is, it was held online. A great initiative that implied lower costs and a larger audience.

The programming of the Festival began on Thursday, January 20 and continued until today. A wide variety of options were presented at this event, including films, short films and documentaries. There were also several talks where different celebrities of the seventh art shared their experiences in filming, acting and directing. In this edition, the actresses who led the "Cinema Café" were Karen Gillan and Emma Thompson (Beautiful Creatures). Other editions of Cinema Café have included Lena Dunham, Maggie Gyllenhall, Chiwetel Ejiofor (Secrets in their Eyes) and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who was the inspiration behind the film On the Basis of Sex.

This festival is a space for many production companies to discover new films. Such was the case with CODA and Minari, which last year grabbed the attention of a large part of the audience.

This year Park City's main street was not packed with moviegoers, but the Festival continued to stand out as one of the most important events in the film industry through a solid programming, dozens of films and incredible talks between expert actors and directors in the field.
