One month after Christopher Plummer’ death

Let's remember this legendary actor

Christopher Plummer was born in Toronto, Canada on December 13, 1929. He grew up with his mother in Senneville, near Montreal, and as a young boy he began taking piano lessons until he found out that his true desire was to be an actor. In his youth, he joined the Canadian Repertory Company where actress Eva Le Gallienne offered him his first important role in The Constant Wife. After doing theater in Paris and returning to Canada, he earned greater popularity with his performance in the film The Fall of the Roman Empire in 1964. The performance of the character of a Roman emperor offered him new opportunities and he acted in The Sound of Music in 1965.

His fame continued to grow since then and he managed to combine his acting career between cinema and theater, which resulted in him winning the four most important awards: Oscar, Golden Globe, Emmy and Tony. In 2008, he even ventured into the literary world, publishing his autobiography In Spite of Myself.

Among his latest works in the industry, we cannot fail to mention: The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Beginners, and All the Money in the World. The latter was directed by Ridley Scott and the actor played businessman Jean Paul Getty who finds himself at a crossroads when he discovers that his grandson has been kidnapped. Michelle Williams and Mark Wahlberg (Mile 22) also participated in the project.

On February 5, 2021, exactly one month ago, we learnt the sad news of his passing at the age of 91 at his home in Weston, Connecticut. He was undoubtedly a great man, an actor who left a valuable contribution and legacy for the entire film industry. He will always be in our hearts!
