Katie Holmes stars in Brahms: The Boy II

The actress joins the sequel directed by William Brent Bell

Brahms: The Boy II is one of the first releases to reach the big screen after the end of lockdown. So there's a lot of expectation for William Brent Bell's film.

One of the advantages for viewers who didn't enjoy the first installment (The Boy, 2016) is that the sequel can be watched either way. But surely after watching the new release, the audience will want to know the first part too.

Katie Holmes joins Brahms: The Boy II

In Brahms: The Boy II, Holmes plays Liza, a well-meaning young mother who decides to take a family vacation after a failed robbery attempt at her London home.

The problem is that the chosen location is the Heelshire mansion, home of the mysterious Victorian porcelain doll named Brahms.

When asked about horror films, the protagonist replied: "It's one of those things that's exciting to go with a group of people, to have the experience of being scared together", and she added, "Even if you go to the movies alone, just being at the movies with the audience, all of us on the edge of the seat, anticipating what's going to happen is exciting," she said.
