Learn more about this touching film

One Life follows Nicholas Winton, a British stockbroker and philanthropist dedicated to saving 669 children before World War II broke out. In 1938 in Prague, Nicky encountered families in terrible conditions and decided to help them to prevent them from falling into the hands of the Nazis. Fifty years later, Nicholas lives tormented by the fate of the children he was unable to save and always blames himself for not having done more. However, during a live BBC television program, he finally meets several survivors, now adults, who celebrate his great perseverance and heroism.

This wonderful story of survival and hope is inspired by Nicholas' daughter Barbara Winston's book "If It’s not Impossible...". In collaboration with the author, the screenwriting team also had access to Nicky's archives and letters. The challenge of the film was to highlight Winton’s figure because he did not see himself as a hero. Therefore, the film features his outstanding work along with his incredible humility.

One Life is a human story about real people. It is not about soldiers, but about people who are touched by a conflict and the way they deal with it, through small and big acts of sacrifice. The film seeks to represent those who help each other in difficult situations. The film features a superb cast, including Anthony Hopkins (The Son; Solace), Johnny Flynn, Jonathan Pryce (Woman in Gold), Lena Olin, and Helena Bonham Carter.

The film will be on the big screen this year throughout Latin America.
