Annie’s (Byrne) monotonous life takes place in a picturesque coastal town in England, dating a long time ago with Duncan (Chris O'Dowd) and with no clear expectations of starting a family.
In that scenario, Duncan only seems excited about one thing: Tucker Crowe (Hawke), an alternative musician who marked his youth and who is currently far from his glory days.
Annie cannot stand listening to Crowe and Duncan anymore so in an outburst she decides to write a review about the rocker's last album. To her surprise, the musician reads the review and contacts her.They begin a bond at the distance that will take them to know each other and perhaps change the life of the two forever.
