Wagner Moura was born on June 27, 1976, in Brazil. From a very young age, he showed interest in journalism but once he graduated, he began to explore the world of acting.
He participated in different projects until he finally played Captain Nascimento in the acclaimed Elite Squad, a Brazilian film that received much recognition. After making the sequel to that story, he landed his first Hollywood role in the film Elysium, alongside Matt Damon (Suburbicon). However, Wagner's real international success came when he played Pablo Escobar in the series Narcos.
One of the latest films starring this actor is Civil War, a film about a group of reporters who travel to the United States during a civil conflict. This war progressively escalates, spreading across the nation. The film features a talented cast, including Kirsten Dunst, Cailee Spaeny, and Stephen McKinley Henderson.
