Year in review: 2023's greatest hits

Let's take a look back at Diamond's releases

Numerous films have been released at the cinema this year, ranging from horror and action to thrillers. Several of these stories were amazing on the big screen and invited viewers to make their own reflections. Throughout 2023, we released several films that scared more than one person in the audience and left a poignant impression.

Let's take a look at some of them:

To Catch a Killer: Directed by Argentinean director Damián Szifron, the film opens with a vicious attack in Baltimore by a lone gunman that leaves twenty-nine dead and not a single clue. Eleanor Falco, a reserved but talented low-level cop, is recruited by FBI Special Agent Geoffrey Lammark to join the team in charge of identifying and arresting the killer. This is an American-made police thriller in which a policewoman and an FBI agent investigate a mass murder at the hands of a mysterious subject.

Talk to MeThe film follows a group of friends who discover how to summon spirits using an embalmed hand, and they become hooked on the new thrill until one of them goes too far and opens the door to the spirit world.

Kandahar: starring Gerard Butler (Greenland; Last Seen Alive), the film tells the story of Tom Harris, a covert CIA agent working in the Middle East who finds himself in danger when his covert mission is leaked and reveals his true identity. Trapped in the middle of enemy territory, Harris and his translator must make their way in an explosive chase across the desert to reach Kandahar, where their extraction point awaits.

Hypnotic: The film tells the story of a detective who must investigate a mystery involving his daughter's disappearance and a secret government program. This sci-fi thriller will keep you intrigued from start to finish.

13 exorcismos: The film follows Laura Villegas, who behaves strangely after a séance. Worried by their daughter's sinister and questionable behavior, her parents seek help from Father Olmedo, a church-sanctioned exorcist.
