Asa Butterfield: All fun and games

The actor of the hour

Asa Butterfield, who is internationally renowned for his role in Sex Education, was born in London in 1997. He began acting when he was very young, in fact, he took numerous acting classes at the Young Actors Theatre at six.

What were his beginnings like? He amazed the critics and audiences with his character in The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, a film that tells the story of the son of a concentration camp commandant who develops a special friendship with an eight-year-old Jew. He then starred in two box-office hits: Hugo by Martin Scorsese and Ender's Game alongside Harrison Ford (The Age of Adeline; The Fugitive) and Viola Davis (Beautiful Creatures). The latter follows a brilliant and remarkably talented 12-year-old boy who is trained to become a great military leader. Having survived a devastating attack by the Formics, a form of insect, the people of Earth have spent years preparing for another attack by raising a new generation of child geniuses to be trained as warriors. The best and brightest boys on the planet are selected to attend Battle School, an orbiting space station where they compete to become commanders of the International Forces.

Where can we enjoy Asa Butterfield’s great talent? You will have the chance to watch All Fun and Games very soon on the big screen in Latin America. The film follows a group of friends who are having fun until one of them, Marcus, touches a knife and unleashes chaos as he is possessed by a demon. However, it is not just any demon, but one that challenges people to play traditional games with a little twist: if you lose, you die.
