Starring Natalie Portman (Jackie) and Julianne Moore (Still Alice; A Single Man), May December follows a young actress who decides to meet the woman she will play in a film that tells the story that happened twenty years ago, in which a woman was sentenced to prison for having an affair with a thirteen-year-old boy, whom she later married and raised a family with.
Directed by Todd Haynes, May December received an eight-minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival and positive reviews from the press. Natalie Portman first received the script and, once she finished reading it, took it to the director of Carol and Far From Heaven to consider collaborating on the project. She was later joined by Julianne Moore, who has already worked five times with filmmaker Todd Haynes.
The film will be released across Latin America this year.
