Who is Helen Mirren?

Let's take a brief look at her career

Helen Mirren (Woman in Gold) was born on 26 July 1945 in London, and she was interested in acting from an early age. One of her first projects was in 1965 when she debuted in Antony and Cleopatra at the National Youth Theatre. She later appeared in films such as A Midsummer Night's Dream, Excalibur, and The Mosquito Coast.

From the 1990s onwards, she appeared in various films and she received several nominations for her acting. Thus, in 2006 she became one of the few actresses to win all four major film awards for a single film, The Queen: An Oscar, the BAFTA, the Golden Globe, and the Screen Actors Guild Award.

Where can we see her superb talent? This year Golda is coming to theatres all over Latin America. The film explores the story of one of the most important figures in history, the first woman Prime Minister of Israel, Golda Meir. It is a drama that explores the events and controversial decisions made by Golda Meir, also known as Israel's Iron Lady, during the 1973 Yom Kippur War.

To play this character, Helen Mirren underwent a huge physical transformation as she spent three and a half hours in make-up to become the memorable figure of Golda. The film also features other incredible actors, including Emma Davies, Henry Goodman, and Liev Schreiber
