Hypnotic follows detective Danny Rourke as he searches for his missing daughter. Along the way, he must solve a series of bank robberies that may be connected to a classified government program.
This sci-fi thriller stars two superb talents, Ben Affleck and Alice Braga. The actress, who was born on April 15, 1983, in São Paulo was exposed to the world of the seventh art from a very young age, as her mother and aunt were both well-known actresses in Brazil. She started her career in school plays and commercials and participated in several supporting roles in films and series before achieving success in City of God.
After landing her first role in Hollywood in Journey to the End of Night, Alice Braga gained international recognition with the film I Am Legend. She is now actively seeking roles that are "out of the ordinary", especially for the Latino community, i.e. that break away from the stereotypical portrayal of crime and poverty in Hollywood films. In this faithful search, she decided to star in Hypnotic.
About her new character, Alice Braga says: "Diana is a brave woman. I like to play strong women, I've done it before, even if I don't see myself reflected in those characters. I think I'm more tender than the women I usually play. Diana is a woman who looks brave but at the same time fragile. It's hard to talk about the character without spoilers because so much happens in the film". She also expressed her deep admiration for director Robert Rodriguez, who is part of the community and offers real opportunities for actors and other Latinos, whether in front of or behind the camera.
