Roland Emmerich recreates one of the most important battles in the American history

Few historical events were as far-reaching in the history of the United States as the Midway naval battle. A determining event for the country.

The naval confrontation took place in 1942 between the forces of the United States and Japan during the World War II, six months after the Japanese attack to Pearl Harbor, which had marked the beginning of the war in the Pacific Ocean.

The film version will focus on the vision of the leaders and sailors who took part in the conflict.

The director Roland Emmerich, recognized for his work on Independence Day (1996) and The Day After Tomorrow (2004), is at the forefront of a story that will have the viewer fully aware of the events.

The filmmaker is also a specialist in combining action movies with historical events as happened with his film The Patriot (2000), starring Mel Gibson and was based on the action of a farmer during the revolution of the United States in 1776.

In Midway, the cast is made up of top-ranked artists: Luke Evans, Patrick Wilson, Woody Harrelson and Mandy Moore will be responsible for bringing to life this story of love, courage and freedom.
