Lorene Scafaria, the filmmaker that will direct Jennifer Lopez in Hustlers

The two women take to theaters the real case of the strippers that swindled businessmen

Lorene Scafaria is part of the mainstream of scriptwriter women that think different things in Hollywood, along with figures like Diablo Cody or Liz Meriwether.

The standing of this 41-years-old filmmaker from New Jersey has been growing in the last years to the point that now she directs Jennifer Lopez in the next release Hustlers.

The strippers of a nightclub

This is a risky bet in their careers because it is a real story in which some strippers plot to rob their clients.

Apart from directing the film, Scafaria wrote the script of this story that features an amazing cast consisting of Lili Reinhart, Julia Stiles, Constance Wu and Keke Palmer.

They will be Lopez’s accomplices in the criminal plot to swindle their rich clients, then drug them and steal all their money.

After being recognized for the comedy-dramas Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist (2008) and Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (2012), Scafaria takes a big step to immerse in this captivating story that portrays part of the dark, hectic world of Manhattan night.
