Green Book points to the Academy Awards

Good reception to Peter Farrelly’s first drama

Well received in Toronto- in which it won the audience award-, Green Book is one of the most anticipated film releases.

And, of course, the critics have already laid eyes on the new work by Peter Farrelly given the well-known fame of that festival as a thermometer of the most successful films. And even speculate with possible Oscar nominations.

A couple that will not go unnoticed

Set in the sixties, this drama with parts of humor is played by Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali, a pair the audience will love from the first images.

Mortensen plays a temperamental Italo-American, not very refined and somewhat violent, who worked for years as security at the Copacabana club in New York. After being fired, he is hired by an exquisite African-American musician to accompany him and, if necessary, protect him during his musical tour through the conservative states of the southern United States.

Throughout the trip, the friendship that arises between them will confront their own ghosts, as well as immerse them in the roots of racism in the region.
