Jennifer Garner: "I had not filmed a fight sequence for over eleven years"

The return of the actress to action films in Peppermint

The body intensity and physical condition needed to make an action movie are not for everyone. It requires a good diet, concentration and a lot of training. Something to which Jennifer Garner was used to, but from which she had moved away a while ago to focus her career on more dramatic roles.

"I hadn’t filmed a fight sequence for over eleven years, which is a long time to hang up your action chops and try to pull it back together, but I knew I could do it," says Garner, who despite being away from the genre, she had been in action films such as Elektra (2005) and The kingdom (2007).

But there are experiences that cannot be forgotten and the actress found a point of contact: "It was the connection to the physical that helped me channel Riley’s desperation (her character) and the emotional motivation behind her need for revenge," explains Garner on the next film that will have her as the lead character: Peppermint.
