Learn more about this wonderful story

The film follows an adventure racer who adopts a stray dog named Arthur to join him in an epic endurance race. Arthur the King is inspired by the story of Mikael Lindnord, the captain of the Swedish adventure athletics team, who had a peculiar encounter during the 400-mile race in the Ecuadorian jungle when a stray dog crossed his path. Lindnord fed it, and from then on, the dog followed him for the rest of the journey. After the race, he decided to adopt the dog and take it to Sweden.

Directed by Simon Cellan Jones, the plot of the film is inspired by the book Arthur - The Dog Who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home. This successful non-fiction novel published in 2017, tells the story of how the author, despite never having thought about having a dog in his life, experiences an incredible connection with Arthur.

It is a heartwarming story about a young man and his dog, a special dog that redefines what victory, loyalty, and friendship mean. Arthur the King features a superb cast, including Mark Wahlberg (All the Money in the World; Mile 22), Nathalie Emmanuel, Simu Liu (One True Loves), and Paul Guilfoyle.
