Ferrari’s new trailer

Watch the preview for the film of the year

The film begins in the summer of 1957 when former racing driver Enzo Ferrari finds himself in crisis and facing the possible bankruptcy of his car factory, which he built ten years earlier with his wife Laura. Enzo's volatile marriage is also affected by the loss of his son Dino and the recognition of a son born out of wedlock, Piero, conceived with Lina Lardi. Throughout the film, we will witness Enzo facing some turning points, for example, the financial pressure to increase productivity, which means going against his long-held desire to produce only racing cars.

Did you know that the film was inspired by a book? Ferrari is an adaptation of the non-fiction book "Enzo Ferrari: The Man, The Cars, The Races, The Machine" written by journalist Brock Yates. This film project took more than twenty years to complete as there were several complications, for instance, finding the ideal actor for the lead role. Several actors were considered to play Enzo Ferrari, including Christian Bale (The Promise) and Hugh Jackman (The Son), but Adam Driver (The Report; Logan Lucky) was the chosen one.

The film is directed by Michael Mann, who previously directed Collateral, The Last of the Mohicans, and the Tokyo Vice series. The biopic features an incredible cast, including Shailene Woodley (Adrift; To Catch a Killer), Penelope Cruz (355), Jack O'Connell, and Patrick Dempsey. Due to health insurance issues, Adam Driver was not allowed to drive in car racing scenes. However, Patrick Dempsey, who is very passionate about car racing and has participated in several competitions, filmed several scenes with his hands on the wheel.

Ferrari will be in theatres in Latin America early next year.
