The Zone of Interest revolves around Auschwitz commandant Rudolf Höss and his wife Hedwig as they strive to build a dream life for their family in a garden house next to the camp.
The film received several Academy Award nominations, including Best Sound, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best International Feature, and Best Director. The recognition in the latter category goes to director Jonathan Glazer, who used up to five fixed cameras in the house and garden with no visible crew to capture many scenes so that the actors did not know whether they were being shot in a close-up or wide shot. Thanks to this wise decision, the performers were completely immersed in the scene and enjoyed working in that realistic environment.
Inspired by the novel written by Martin Amis, the film features a superb cast including Sandra Hüller (Anatomy of a Fall), Christian Friedel, Freya Kreutzkam, and Ralph Herforth.
The Zone of Interest is now in theaters in Latin America.
