Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games are over

The Closing Ceremony was held at the Olympic Stadium

The Tokyo Olympics were originally scheduled to be held last year, but they were postponed to this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although there was a big controversy in Japan -and worldwide debates- over whether they should be held or not, they were eventually authorized and began on July 23rd. They usually last fifteen days, so the closing ceremony was held on Sunday, August 8, at Tokyo’s Olympic Stadium, which had been rebuilt for the Games. This marks the beginning of a new pre-Olympic stage that will end in Paris with the next Games to be held in 2024.

Athletes from 204 countries had the opportunity to participate and many athletes have returned home with the pride of having won a medal after arduous training. They all know how to prove that anything can be achieved with hard work.

This is the case of Brittany (Jillian Bell) in Brittany runs a Marathon, who sets herself to make a radical change in her life and gradually begins to train to run the New York City Marathon. Director Paul Downs Colaizzo stated the film is based on a true story, since Brittany's character is his best friend in real life and the person who inspired him to write this project.

Another film of the sort is Race, directed by Stephen Hopkins and starring Stephan James, Jeremy Irons and a great cast. The film is based on the true story of Jesse Owens, an athlete who participated in the 1936 Olympic Games after much effort and dedication. He even managed to challenge Hitler's idea of Aryan supremacy, as he won four gold medals in track-and-field races. Not to be missed!

You can achieve any goal with effort and dedication!
