Hilary Swank: the award-winning Hollywood girl

After three years off the screen, she returns with What They Had

In Hollywood, nobody dares to question that Hilary Swank is one of the most exceptional performers of her generation.

Already as a child Swank loved the theater and stood out as a brilliant athlete. She was always very athletic and managed to compete in the Junior Olympics in swimming. But, glory reached her in art. Before turning 31, she had already been awarded two Oscar awards for Boys don’t cry and Million dollar baby, two films that gave her the recognition of critics and the audience.

Back to the ring

Swank’s long absence in the billboard was sometimes attributed to the supposed "Oscar Curse". The legend says that after reaching the beloved statuette many talents begin to stumble and fall into oblivion.

But, Swank herself came out to tell her truth. She clarified that the last three years she moved away from the spotlight to be with her father who had to undergo a lung transplant. Already recovered, Swank returns to the ring and is preparing to release What They Had.

And, turns of life, her character will have to deal with her mother’s Alzheimer (Blythe Danner) in the new work by director and writer Elizabeth Chomko.
