Craig William Macneill 's favorite horror story

The director of Lizzie explains what motivated his new film

Based on real events, Lizzie allows us to get to know one of the most famous assassins in history.

Such is her fame, that thousands of children in the US have grown up with some of the horror stories that recall the brutal crime: supposedly (because, it was never actually proved) Lizzie Borden murdered with an ax her father and her stepmother.

"The first time I heard about Lizzie Borden and the savage murder I was a boy. And when I grew up, she kept hanging around in my imagination, “confesses the film's director, Craig William Macneill.

A point of view

"In the film, I explore the case beyond its most brutal aspect", clarifies the director and he details: "the film is a work that tries to understand Lizzie in a historical and psychological context, explore the framework of her potential motivation and, if she actually committed those crimes, to question the way in which certain dangerous impulses could begin to reveal in someone".

Chlöe Sevigny and Kristen Stewart star in this feature film in which they are lovers and killers at the same time. A high-voltage psychological thriller based on the horrific homicide of the Borden family in Massachusetts in 1892.
