The teaser trailer for Ferrari debuted during one of the most important film festivals, the Venice International Film Festival. The film tells the story of Enzo Ferrari, the Italian founder of the car brand, and delves into his crisis: a potential company bankruptcy and a troubled marriage while dealing with the death of their son.
Directed by Michael Mann, Ferrari is inspired by the non-fiction book "Enzo Ferrari: The Man, The Cars, The Races, The Machine" written by journalist Brock Yates. The director first considered the idea of telling this story twenty years ago and the film has been in production since then. However, he took up the project again in 2015 and finally started to consider who could be the leading actor.
The biopic features a talented cast including Shailene Woodley (Adrift; To Catch a Killer), Adam Driver (The Report; Logan Lucky), Penelope Cruz (355), Jack O'Connell, and Patrick Dempsey, who is a big fan of car racing and has participated in several competitions, including the Daytona.
Ferrari currently has several nominations at the 80th Venice International Film Festival and will be in theatres in Latin America this year.
