The actor of The Current War

Tom Holland was born on June 1, 1996 in London, England. Since he was little, he was interested in dancing and acting and that passion together with his talent made him star in the Billy Elliot musical between 2008 and 2010. In 2012, he got his first role in The Impossible alongside Naomi Watts, and since then he has participated in several projects until he finally rose to fame in 2016 when he played Peter Parker in Spiderman. In 2017, he participated in The Current War, where he played Samuel Insull, an American business magnate who greatly contributed through his investment to creating an integrated electrical infrastructure.

Here are ten things you surely didn’t know about this young actor:

1) As he was so obsessed with a Janet Jackson song when he was a kid and wouldn't stop dancing to it, his mother saw his potential and enrolled him in dance classes.

2) During a show, he was spotted by a talent agent who made him to audition for Billy Elliot. Even though he was not chosen as he was still too small, he began to train hard, and nature did its thing to make him grow. Two years later, he got the role.

3) His first kiss in real life was acting in that musical with the actress who played the role of Debbie, and with whom he was madly in love!

4) He studied ballet, an activity for which he suffered bullying at school, which was only for boys, because it was “not cool” for him to dance instead of playing rugby. Despite being a renowned actor today, he never lost his skills as a dancer and showed all his talents in his famous version of Rihanna's “Umbrella” in Lip Sync Battle.

5) When his acting career had not yet taken off, his mother enrolled him in a carpentry school so that he had a backup plan. However, he was there only for eight weeks since he was called for his Marvel role.

6) He has a spider tattoo on the bottom of his foot. The role of the movie went beyond fiction...

7) His favorite movie is Primal Fear starring Richard Gere.

8) He took one of the green screens used in the shootings to place on his poker table.

9) In an interview in 2017, he said the worst piece of advice he ever received in his life was from Mark Wahlberg: "He basically told me to party, go crazy and have fun."

10) He is definitely very infatuated... he had a crush with another character from the Marvel world: Elizabeth Olsen.
