Toni Collette, the daughter of a truck driver and a courier worker, is an Australian actress born on November 1, 1972. She developed an interest in acting in her teenage years through her participation in various student plays and, once she finished high school, she enrolled at the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney. She later abandoned her studies to play in different plays.

Toni Collette began her successful career with the film Muriel's Wedding, which explores a family dynamic where the father overrides the rest of the family members and that affects love and friendship. She later appeared in supporting roles in Hollywood films like The Pallbearer, The Sixth Sense, and Little Miss Sunshine.  She received nominations for Best Actress at the Golden Globes and the Oscars early on in her career. Collette is a great talent who continues to surprise us with each of her films.

This actress's versatility is truly remarkable, as she seamlessly transitions from one genre to another, embodies a variety of complex characters, and tells different stories that transcend the big screen. One of her recent hits, Hereditary, is a film that explores the story of the Graham family. The matriarch, Ellen, has passed away, leaving her descendants to unravel the mysterious and terrifying secrets of their ancestry. As they delve deeper into their past, they begin to realize the sinister fate that awaits them. This family tragedy is both unsettling and poignant, providing a harrowing glimpse into the consequences of a hellish inheritance.

When will we get the chance to see Toni Collette again? Latin American cinemas will be featuring the comedy film The Estate this year. The movie tells the story of two sisters as they try to win their ailing aunt’s love in the hope of inheriting her wealthy estate.
